West Yellowstone has a big heart The community benefit fro John and Becky Tebby at the Barrel Bar on February 28 shows what a small town like West Yellowstone will do for its own. And how much fun they can have doing it. There were about one hundred and fifty good souls in attendance, milling and mingling, buying raffle tickets and signing up for the excellent silent auction items, enjoying the local musicians and the bluegrass band and taking a lively turn or two on the dance floor. It was a chance for many to visit with friends and neighbors they'd barely had time to see all season. John and Becky were there, grateful and humbled at being the center of attention of everyone's benevolence. Local musicians John Gospodarek, Jamie Greene and Jessica Kilroy entertained the crowd. Pati Taylor reported that the raffle raised approximately $8,300, with an additional $3,300 from the silent auction. "It's a testament," she said, " to the generosity of this town." Some unclaimed prizes remain at Taylor's shop, Send it Home, at 27 Madison, and must be claimed before March 19th. A list of the winning raffle ticket numbers is posted on the bulletin board at the Post Office or online at www.yellowstoneguideassociation.com. West Yellowstone's First Security bank and Yellowstone Basin Bank are both set up to receive donations for the John and Becky Tebby Medical Fund. |
